Volunteering at the ReStore
Volunteer at the ReStore and help give the best shopping experience possible to our customers while raising funds to support Habitat’s mission of eliminating poverty housing!
Experience helpful but not necessary. All training and instruction provided.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
Sales Clerk Volunteer: meeting and greeting customers, running the cash register, calling customers who have purchases to be picked up, other duties as requested.
Sale Floor Volunteer: supporting the sales floor by cleaning and organizing merchandise, bringing priced items to the showroom, moving purchased products to the “sold” area, assisting customers with loading their purchases.
Warehouse Volunteer: receiving donations, cleaning, testing and pricing donated items, keeping warehouse clean and organized, assisting with unloading of ReStore truck.
Special Projects Volunteer: assembling and testing merchandise, making upgrades to ReStore facility, assisting with renovations to showroom. (Wednesdays only)
Driver’s Assistant: assisting ReStore driver picking up donations, helping unload truck at store. Note: must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50lbs. comfortably.
Shift Information: We have morning (9:00 – 1:00), afternoon (1:00 – 5:00), and full day (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) shifts available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday . If these times don’t work for you, let us know. We’re flexible!
New Volunteer Orientations – Every Friday from 4 – 5 pm. Come see the store, meet the staff, find out what there is to do and how you can get involved!
Help us out! If you sign up for a volunteer shift, please make every effort to fulfill your commitment. Should a scheduling conflict occur preventing you from working your shift, either return to the scheduling calendar and delete your sign up or call the store (978-227-5556) to let us know. Thanks!
School and Court-Ordered Community Service Information
HFHNCM tries to accomodate requests for community service hours as much as possible. Letters verifying the hours completed can be picked up from the HFHNCM office by appointment. Please be aware: We cannot accept court-ordered community service requests from persons convicted of offences involving larceny and/or violence.
Help us save on paper and printing costs by downloading your waiver form and bringing it with you when you come for your first shift. Thanks – every little bit helps!
